Early Music Missouri presents "Le Cabinet Extraordinaire: 17th-Century Music for Baroque Lute"

Lutenist Brian Bartling opens Early Music Missouri’s season with a program of 17th-century music for Baroque lute. The concert features solo music by Phillip Franz LeSage de Richée, Ennemond Gautier and Charles Mouton and the Bohemian lutenist Jan Antonín Losy, and includes gracious French dances and witty character pieces.

Festival of New Works Spotlight On… HOPE
Are you an artist with a story that lifts the human spirit, sparks inspiration, and shines a light through dark times? We’re seeking original pieces (plays, monologues, songs, dance, poetry, etc.) that center on the theme of HOPE—whether it’s hope in love, resilience, or the simple act of dreaming big and looking toward a brighter future!
In addition to performance pieces, we are also seeking visual and fine art submissions! This year's festival will feature a lobby display of visual art that contributes to the theme, providing a well-rounded view of the hope and resilience of the St. Louis arts community.
Festival Dates: September 19-20, 2025 at the Kranzberg Black Box Theatre

* Original works only
* Must focus the theme of hope, whatever that means to you
* No more than 20 minutes in length
* Submissions made by artists under 18 must provide a signed parental agreement (found on our website)
* Submissions open until June 1, 2025

At Klassic Rock Karaoke, we celebrate the spirit of Classic Rock by providing an opportunity for talented vocalists to shine on stage. Our vibrant venue offers live performances with karaoke background music, allowing you to hear your favorite Classic Rock songs while witnessing fierce competition among singers vying for cash prizes. Expect an electrifying atmosphere that resonates with the energy of live music and the passion of our performers.

The 2025 Series at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center features a LIVE AUDITION day and four evening performances throughout the year. The LIVE AUDITION is free to the public and will be a day filled with singers auditioning on stage, food, drink and a live broadcast by our sponsor, Classic Rock 93.1 

 Shows #1, #2, and #3 will each have three competitive sets with the winner of each set selected by audience voting. The three winners will compete in a fourth set and the audience will decide on the first, second and third place finishers, who will earn cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 respectively.

 At the Grand Finale previous winners from Shows #1-3 will be invited back to compete against each other - and new Klassic Rock Karaoke singers. It will be a spectacular event and the culmination of The 2025 Series, taking place over the 2025 Christmas holiday season.
