Musical Merry-Go-Round
Mamas, go ahead. Let your babies
grow up to be cowboys, especially if those babies can entertain like
the accomplished yodeler, story-teller, and trick-roper Cowboy Randy Erwin.
With a rich baritone voice that slides up and down the musical
register, this performer brought his kid-centric cowboy style to Musical Merry-Go-Round.

Erwin
personifies the Old West experience, sharing the tall tales and music
of this unique aspect of American history. While he sports a 10-gallon
hat and well-worn western boots, Cowboy Randy captures other musical
styles. His "Lovesick Blues" sounds like Elvis might have if he had yodeled "Teddy Bear" while "Right Where You Want Me" suggests the lonely goatherd from The Sound of Music - on speed. Erwin has received national attention, performing on NPR, at Carnegie Hall, and in Disney's animated film Home on the Range as Alameda Slim. Check him out this summer at area schools and libraries.
