KDHX and 12 local artists and bands presented the All-Star Townes Van Zandt Tribute at Off Broadway. Featured acts included Brothers Lazaroff, Theodore, Cassie Morgan, Ben Bedford, May Day Orchestra, and more, all covering songs by the Texas legend, with proceeds benefiting 88.1 FM KDHX.
March 7, 2009 marked the 65th birthday of Townes
Van Zandt, the Fort Worth-born songwriter who passed away in 1997. Few American
songwriters are as loved and respected as Townes, a musical poet whose best
known songs include "Pancho and Lefty," "To Live Is To Fly,"
"If I Needed You," "Snowin' on Raton" and "Rex's Blues."
