Backroads
Folk, film, and farm characterize worlds inhabited by Americana artist Tim Grimm. Hailing from Brown County, Indiana, the self-described singer-songwriter, actor, and hay maker visited Backroads to share his new CD, Holding Up The World, a collection of songs depicting struggle, loss, and yearning.

The Chicago Sun-Times named Grimm "Best Discovery in Roots/Americana Music"
in 2000. Likened to Johnny Cash, Woodie Guthrie, and Bruce Springsteen,
Grimm's rich voice eloquently details everyday rural life. Grimm says,
"One of the things I've always loved about true rural people is that
you had to be a jack of all trades...to mend that, cobble that."
Similarly, Grimm cobbled together a career in music, television, and film
that gives him a sublime narrative style. After several years in
California, he returned to the inspiring woods of his youth to raise
his family. Grimm's Saint Louis trip included performances at the High Valley Cafe House and the Eliot Chapel.
