Off Broadway, 8 p.m.
KDHX and a host of Saint Louis-area artists and bands joined forces for Excitable Boys & Girls: A Tribute to Warren Zevon. This all-star event took place at Off Broadway, with Brothers Lazaroff, Bob Reuter, Tenement Ruth, Brad & Auset, and more, all covering songs by the L.A. legend. Proceeds benefited 88.1 KDHX.

Admired for his caustic wit, daring musicianship, and deeply honest songwriting, Warren Zevon, who passed away in 2003, left an idiosyncratic and vast musical legacy. From "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" to "Werewolves in London," from "Poor, Poor Pitful Me" to "Lawyers Guns and Money," from "Carmelita" to "Hasten Down the Wind," his songs  have been covered by everyone from Linda Ronstadt to the Pixies. Now it's Saint Louis' turn to honor the artist about whom David Letterman once asked, "If this guy is not a poet, who is?"

Here's the lineup for Excitable Boys & Girls:  Brad & Auset, Brothers Lazaroff, Rough Shop, Melody Den, Bob Reuter, Prairie Rehab (featuring members of the Linemen), Tenement Ruth, Jon Bonham & Friends, and Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School (featuring members of the Love Experts). Tickets were $10 at the door and all proceeds were donated to KDHX Community Media. Off Broadway is located at 3511 Lemp in the Benton Park Neighborhood.
