On their 2009 release, Hospice, the trio of Peter Silberman, Michael Lerner and Darby Cicci create an ambient x-ray of a soul struggling with loss and shame, fear and illness. Lissome, fragile vocals float above reverberant keys, strung-out guitars, and unidentifiable eerie sounds that seem to bear messages from far off places. The album has been warmly received in critical circles, including rave reviews in the Onion AV and Pitchfork.
