Flyover Comedy Festival Presents St. Louis Native in Comical Character Tribute to Elvis - “The King & Me,” One Night Only, November 10
Following runs from NYC to LA, St. Louis native Jamie Cummings returns as “The King” in his solo comedy about a struggling Elvis impersonator.
In his tenth year of competition, the fourth-ranked Elvis impersonator in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area has told himself, “It’s now or never.” The only things standing between him and TCB (takin’ care of business) are his rival, his Mama, and his talent.
"This tribute to those who pay tribute to Elvis is smart, genuine, and has a huge heart.” - Matthew Love (New York Times, Rolling Stone)
“Inspires pathos and real laughs… His ability to keep an audience in the palm of his hand keeps us rooting for his loser hero.” - Kevin Laibson (Peoples Improv Theater [PIT], NYC)
Jamie Cummings (Comedy Central, MTV) is a New York City-based actor, writer, director and teacher. He is currently appearing Off-Broadway in the immersive hit Accomplice, and has performed with international musical improv powerhouse Baby Wants Candy, as well as in hundreds of shows at UCB and the PIT. He wrote, acted, and directed for the Emmy Award-winning Web sitcom Floaters, which screened at Sundance. Jamie will also be improvising at the Flyover Comedy Festival on November 11 at 11:00 p.m. at the Improv Shop with “Nappy Time for Cookie,” alongside his wife Mandy Schmieder (Inside Amy Schumer).
