The American Confluence
Monday 10 a.m.-Noon

Show description:

Everything on vinyl records, The American Confluence highlights songs that have been important in American culture throughout history. Featuring a mix of blues, jazz, and country music, and anything and everything related - such as music of the Caribbean and Latin America, gospel, traditional folk, rock 'n roll.

Describe the inspiration for your show and what listeners can expect:

"The goal of the show is to celebrate and explore all forms of American music, focusing on roots and influences. We will hear music local to our region as often as possible.  The one requirement; is we're only spinning records."

About me:

"I'm an audio engineer!  I get to record concerts at Jazz St. Louis, which is awesome. I also do live sound at the Touhill Theater at UMSL and San Fransisco Temple Church, both of which have very cool music. In the future, I hope to travel the world making audio field recordings of culturally significant music/art.

I love music and I spend most of every day listening to something. Most recently I've been learning about the vast world of jazz - I think it is so cool because of our region's major contributions to the foundation of jazz.

Other than that, I love being outside - fishing, camping and hiking. I'm excited to be a part of the amazing cultural institution that is KDHX!"
